I am using a QBBC strategy and its working out fairly well(5-0)..The stat(difference in avg.pts./week between number 1 QB and number 10) you mentioned is what I was looking at pre-draft..In our league, the guy who took Rodgers in the 1st round is 1-4.and the other guy who took Brees in round 1 iiiisss..u guessed it 1-4 ! LOL
Hindsight is 20/20. If Brees and Rodgers played like they did last season, the difference between them and Freeman would be much more than 5 points per week. While I agree that a QB in the first round should be limited to 2qb leagues, it is unfair to say that those guys are 1-4 solely because they drafted qbs. They are 1-3 because their first round picks have underperformed...regardless of position. How are the guys who chose Steven Jackson or Michael Turner doing?
Out scoring your opponent each week is the only metric which matters. If your the top scoring club in your league and you happen to be out scored by the top weekly team its a loss. QBs are the top point positions week after week. It's all about matchups, bye weeks and injuries over the course of the year.
Fumb, in std league, rodgers has 110/5gms played=22x16=352....you don't think you can get RB's that average 5 or less pts than AP for "cheap". btw, 4-1 with rodgers. and still having my fantasy bread buttered.
FUMB, I love how you show up making Rodgers/Freeman comparisons after the concussion. Hindsight is 20/20. With your logic I guess it would be a fair assessment that taking Chris Johnson or Adrian Peterson would be a complete waste in the 1st considering you can pickup a guy like Arian Foster or LeSean McCoy in the 3rd or 4th round. Obviously you don't have AR on your team. Worry and stress about your own players. The draft is over. Move on and prepare for the future.
Well I have Rodgers on my team.. I do not have cadillac either.. I have Mendenhall, Foster, and Hollis..
Also have Fitzgerald, Flloyd, Edwards, and Zach Miller. Was able to make a trade to get Miller and Fitz.. This is a 12 team league.. In these years, you do no have to draft a RB first to win a championship.. Look at Foster, Forte, Mendenhall.. Granted if you have the 1 or 2 pick you take Johnson and Peterson.. Who do you draft if you draft 7 or 8.? A running back?. I took Rodgers and then came back down and got Mendenhall then Foster.. Granted Rodgers numbers have not been thhe greatest but who would of expected that? It is easy to second guess..
I think he will play this week more than likely. With the RB situation back under control, he won't be asked to do anything that is super human, which is normally what this guy does do. He hasn't been as reliable this year as in years past so far, but I feel the best is yet to come for sure. I did a write up on Matt Flynn as well, but I just have a feeling that Matt will not get the pull, and Rodgers will ask to play. That will be the deciding factor here. Rodgers will always be in the shadow of Favre, and he knows he has to be tough come game day if he wants to steal the hearts of the fans in Green Bay. He will not have an easy time against a Miami D who is very talented, minus their special teams work, which is horrid. We are not talking about Jason Campbell here, we are talking about Aaron Rodgers, and he has weapons on the field, and in his soul.
Fumb,First of all I'm 5-0.LIke the one guy said your basing this after 5 games. No way Freeman out produces Rodgers over the course of the year. I'm in two Leagues, one standard and one QB heavy, where passing Td's count as 6pts.Thats the one I'm 5-0 in.Freemans waiver material in a 12 team league as far as I'm concerned.
By the way, I know none of you care whether I'm 5-0,LOL, I was just making a point to Fumb that Rodgers can win you a Championship. My other players have been playing great. What can I say. It all really depends on who has the better match-ups any given week, whether thats me or my opponent. Simple as that
Another thing Fumb. J.Freeman has only played 4 games because he had a bye week. Rodgers has played five. Also three of Freemans opponents were CLE,CAR,and CIN. YUK
footballanimal - so CAR is bad vs the pass huh? ONLY 5 teams have been better! CLE has been the ONLY easy game for Freeman. On the other hand, Rodgers has had WAS, DET, PHI & BUF. The ONLY tough matchup for your boy here was PIT. You were right about 1 thing though.....nobody cares about you being 5-0!

I never look at these threads but the Freeman/Rogers comparison caught my eye. What a ridiculous notion! I wish fumb was n both of my leagues (which r a quarterback heavy format) . We would all have a great time whupping him. I took Rogers with the 4th pick of the first round n both leagues. I'm 5-0 and 4-1. Probably wouldn't b without him. He's money and n our formats u will not win a championship without a top five qb....period so be careful about making blanket statements that u don't need a top qb. If he plays, he starts regardless of the match- up. He's gonna have a few bad games. He's actually off to a slow start but he will have to have a whole lot more before I would ever even consider sitting him down.
